"The Schoolhouse"
WAKE was retained to renovate this small structure nestled in the heart of Maine’s Acadia National Park. Built in 1840, according to public records, the “Schoolhouse” was originally a public school before becoming a single-family residence sometime in the late 50s.
Wanting to keep the buildings original footprint, ridgeline, and general size new dormers were introduced on the second floor to create additional living space. The newly renovated home is now a 4-bed, 3-bath, single-family dwelling that has a two-story central living and dining area that opens up to the south-facing deck.
